Labor and Delivery Nurse expert (L&D) can assist and monitor both mother and unborn baby throughout the labor and childbirth process and post birth.  Labor and Delivery Nurse monitor new mothers and infants for possible complications with delivery. Labor and Delivery Nurses assist physicians and midwives during childbirth and are present during the labor, birth, and post-birth.

L&D Nurse are responsible for identifying any abnormalities during labor and monitoring fetal heart rate, contraction measurements, cervical dilation, and other assessments during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum period of mother and newborn.

One of the most critical roles a Labor and Delivery Nurse expert plays is giving new mothers the knowledge and confidence to care for their child at home. Labor and Delivery Nurses play a pivotal role in educating new parents about newborn care such as feeding and reading infant cues.
